How to negotiate a lower price for your wedding venue

Nov 11, 2012 · I'm new to this whole wedding planning lark and have just started looking at venues. We are ideally looking to get married September 2013 but haven't set an exact date yet, depends on the right venue and availability. What I'd like to know is have any of you 'haggled' with your venues at all? Discounts on brochure price for venue hire/food etc.
